Rick McLean

Rick started his career in Financial Services in 1989, as an adviser for Tower Financial Advisory Services, where he soon established himself as one of Tower's top advisers. In January 2000 he, along with 13 other advisers left Tower to establish Goldridge Wealth Management a large, and successful, financial planning business. In May 2011 Rick completed all required qualifications to achieve Authorised Financial Adviser status according to the requirements set by the Financial Markets Authority. On the sale of Goldridge in June 2014, Rick formed his new company - Ballater Wealth Management Ltd.

Under this new structure, Rick continues to look after the Insurance and Investment needs of clients from all walks of life. He specializes in comprehensive Risk Insurance and Investment Planning services for families, farmers and other business clients. Ballater Wealth Management has built a great reputation in the industry, with most new clients coming from referrals from existing clients and other professionals.

'I have been married for 38 years to Glenice and we have 3 adult children - Scott, Tracey and Kimberley and 1 grandchild - Boston. We consider ourselves very blessed that all three of our 'Kids' have wonderful, supportive partners.

We are  also fortunate to live in a country setting close to Matamata and involve ourselves in our community as much as possible.

I have spent 26 years building a large and successful business looking after the needs of clients throughout New Zealand. I am immensely proud of the fact that nearly all our new clients come from referrals. I said from my very first day in this business that 'I would always put my clients interests first' and I firmly believe that this is the reason we have existing clients, and other professionals - lawyers and accountants - sending clients to us on a regular basis.

Doni joined Rick in the office in January 2010 and is an integral part of all aspects of the business. (She is also the Boss when Rick is absent, and often when he is in the office as well!)
